1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Proof of Life (the "Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
The Service provides a privacy-preserving way to anchor identity and location data on the Arbitrum blockchain. Cryptographic techniques ensure unlinkability between daily anchors and a user's master identity, allowing selective disclosure of proofs without compromising privacy.
3. User Responsibilities
3.1 Accurate Information
Users are responsible for the accuracy of data recorded by their mobile devices. Alibi Ledger, LLC does not control or verify the GPS coordinates, photos, or other data provided by user devices.
3.2 Device Security
Users must maintain the security of their mobile devices and private keys. Loss of private keys may result in permanent loss of access to anchored data.
3.3 Compliance with Laws
Users agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations.
4. Privacy and Data Storage
4.1 Blockchain Storage
Anchors are stored anonymously on the Arbitrum blockchain using cryptographic techniques. Once data is anchored on the blockchain, it is immutable and cannot be deleted.
4.2 Cryptographic Keys
Anchored data can only be retrieved through derived cryptographic keys. Users prove ownership through cryptographic signatures.
4.3 IPFS Storage
Encrypted manifests are stored on IPFS and referenced by content identifiers (CIDs) on the blockchain.
5. Data Accuracy
Alibi Ledger, LLC makes a best effort to display accurate location data. GPS accuracy may be affected by:
- Device capabilities and hardware limitations
- Environmental conditions (buildings, weather, terrain)
- User device settings and permissions
- Network connectivity and signal strength
Alibi Ledger, LLC does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of GPS coordinates and is not responsible for data inaccuracies.
6. Blockchain Transactions
6.1 Immutability
Once data is anchored on the blockchain, it cannot be modified or deleted. Verify data carefully before anchoring.
7. Ownership and Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by Alibi Ledger, LLC and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALIBI LEDGER, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:
- Your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service
